2007-P ERROR John ADAMS
DOUBLE EDGE LETTERS - INVERTED letters Presidential Dollar. Double edge lettering occured when this coin went through the mint's edge lettering machine more than once, resulting in a doubling effect of some letters in the motto "In God We Trust", the year and P (Philadephia United States government mint) mint mark, along with other wording on the coin's edge.
Two varieties of double edge lettered Adams dollars have been found: One error has double edge lettering facing the same direction, called overlapping error.
The other version has double edge lettering with the doubling printed upside down, called inverted lettering error. This version has the 2nd edge letters printed on top of the first, with the 2nd ones upside down.
This coin is the INVERTED double edge letter error. At this point in time, both versions are thought to be equally scarce.
