2005 Tenth oz. GOLD $5 US EAGLE Coin - PCGS MS69 First Strike.
This United States Government Mint State genuine Gold coin is PCGS certified and graded MS-69 "First Strike".
This 10th ounce gold coin is minted at the US government's Philadelphia coin mint. It is certified as genuine and graded by PCGS. PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service) is one of the world's largest independed third party coin graded service companies.ike holder.
How coins are graded:
The coin grading scale begins with a low grade of 1 and goes to a maximum grade of 70. For example, a grade of 10 would be a very poor condition. An MS-60 grade (Mint State 60) or above would be an uncirculated coin. MS70 would be absolute "perfection". Some experts say there is no such thing as a "perfect" coin. In fact, some grading services rarely give a grade on any coin above MS-69 or PF-69, one of the highest grades available. Even the newest attractive coins issued direct from the US government Mint often have microscopic flaws keeping them from meeting such high standards.
Each PCGS certified coin is graded, authenticated as genuine, encased in a tamper resistant PCGS hard Plastic holder, and assigned an unique serial number.
We know you will be pleased with this high grade genuine gold coin. Satisfaction Guaranteed !
How does a coin earn the "First Strike" label? The date of issuance determines whether the coin is one of the first issued or shipped from the US mint. On these limited coins, PCGS will seal the coin in their "First Strike" plastic slab holder with the words " First Strike" inside the PCGS holder.
This applies to Gold, Silver and Platinum Eagle coins issued by the U.S. Mint.
Although the First Strike coins have the same design (and precious metal content) as expected future production of non-1st strike coins, they will have a different Serial Number and label than regular Gold Eagles Graded By PCGS.
