1976-S PCGC certified PR69 DCAM Bicentennial Silver 3 coin Proof Set.
Three different size silver 1976-S coins
Certified and encapsulated by PCGS as proof PR69 DCAM condition. Issued only for the US Bicentenial year 1976.
During 1976 the United States government mint produced a new reverse design on three of our nation's coins.
The Washington quarter features a colonial drummer boy on the reverse instead of the eagle design. On the Kennedy halves you will find Independence Hall (Philadelphia) instead of an eagle. On the 1976 Ike dollar coin a Liberty Bell wih the moon in the background was issued for this special year. Coins show "1776-1976" as the date. These special minted coins were produced for, in 1976, and were no longer made thereafter.
Although coins made for circulation have these same designs, they were made of copper/nickel clad metal instead of silver. Also, copper nickel clad coins were made as "proof"s and show an special "S" (San Francisco) mint mark near the date on the front. Proof, S mint marked coins, were not made for circulation and were sold only in collector sets.
In addition, and even smaller number of "S" mint proofs were minted out of SILVER (clad 40 % silver purity) and sold in limited 3 coin SETS. This set is the silver type.
This three coin set contains one silver Washington Quarter, silver Kennedy Half Dollar, and silver Ike dollar. All 3 silver coins show mirror like deep cameo features and are in proof condition and graded -certified by PCGS as PR69DCAM.
